The director of the Journalists Training Centre (CEFOJOR), Albino Carlos, considered this Friday in Luanda that journalism plays a fundamental role in the promotion and affirmation of Angolan literature and cultural identity.
Speaking at a workshop on "The affirmation of journalism in the affirmation of literature", the director referred that the wealth of the Angolan social communication (media) resides on the cultural dimension, which is aimed at promoting the country's cultural values.
To him, the history of journalism and of literature in Angola is confusing, since the first journalists were also the first cultural promoters. To Albino Carlos, disseminating literary works through the media is a way of informing the community about various habits and customs, which contribute to the increase of nationalism, something that distinguishes Angolans from other people.
The workshop was part of the activities of the Music and Literature Fair. It is a cultural project of assistance to Angolan and international cultural events, promotion and increase of reading habits and debate on matters relating to the production of books, CDs and theatrical plays.
To happen from August 24 to 30 under the motto “Creating new cultural facts”, the event is being attended by national and foreign exhibitors, and has some novelties, mainly the cycle of workshops, debates, poetry reciting, concerts, cinema in DVD, theatre and book release.
