Journalism award for ex-college student

A TOP award in journalism has been won by a former student of Fakenham College.
Oliver Brown, who writes for the Daily Telegraph, became the first winner of the Ian Wooldridge Trophy as the outstanding Young Sports Writer of 2007.

He was presented with his award by Sports Journalists’ Association chairman Barry Newcombe and Sarah Wooldridge, Ian’s widow.College director John McCourt said it was always satisfying to hear of former students’ successes and this was particularly special.

Another former college student, Harriet Husbands, is also enjoying success after graduating from Warwick University with a first class honours degree in civil engineering.
