Universitys free course in journalism

LIVERPOOL Hope University is offering wannabe journalists a helping hand into the industry with an all-expenses paid degree.The university is offering a free place on its three-year media degree course.The scholarship involves television, radio, film, digital photography, animation, marketing, PR, print journalism, media theory, popular culture, and web design.The selected applicant will also get experience in the programing departments of Radio City, Magic 1548 and City Talk.

John McCarthy, the university’s director of marketing, recruitment and external relations, said: “The university and Radio City have worked hard to ensure that the package on offer in the scholarship is financially attractive and provides invaluable work experience in the field.”The course, launched in 2003, attracts more than 350 students a year.To apply, students must put the university’s BA media (single honours or combined) as their first choice on their UCAS form.
